10 Do’s and Don’ts After an Accident
1. Do call 911. Remain calm and courteous until police
arrive.
2. Do exchange insurance information with everyone at
the scene.
3. Do write down the plate number, make & model of the
other car. Take photos if you can – even with your cell phone.
4. Do look for witnesses and get their contact
information.
5. Do get medical attention right away for anyone who
is injured.
6. Do notify your insurance company as soon as
possible.
7. Do cooperate with the police. If they give you a
ticket, it is ok to sign that you received it. But:

anyone else at the scene, or with representatives or
investigators for any insurance company, or sign anything
